SiteTran
one.com One Code component

Translate your one.com website into 187+ languages

one.com's own way to add a language is to duplicate every page and translate each copy by hand, and its Online Shop can only appear once per site. SiteTran takes one Code component instead: your pages, shop, blog and forms are translated as they load, in Danish, Swedish, German, English or any language your customers read.

Check your one.com product and plan

one.com sells two site builders and WordPress hosting. Find yours below: most sites are ready for SiteTran in a few minutes.

Ready for SiteTran

Website Builder with Embed custom code

If your editor's Widgets panel has a Code component you can use, you're set. That's the Business, Pro and Ecommerce Website Builder plans, or the Premium and Business + E-commerce add-ons on a classic hosting plan.

One upgrade away

Website Builder Mini, Basic or Starter

These plans add Embed custom code when you upgrade, using the Upgrade button in the editor. Then follow the same three steps below.

Added through chat

Aida AI Website Builder

one.com's newer, chat-based builder is a separate product with its own plans. Embed code is included, but you add it by asking Aida rather than from a menu. Ask Aida to put all three lines of your Widget Code on every page, then check your published site.

Use our plugin

WordPress on one.com hosting

If you built your site with WordPress, including one.com's managed WordPress or Aida WP builder, skip the Code component and use the SiteTran WordPress plugin.

How it works

Add SiteTran to one.com in three steps

The one.com Code component runs your code on the page itself, so SiteTran can read and translate everything around it. Put it in your header once and it loads on every page.

1

Create your SiteTran site

Sign up free, add your site's address, select its original language, such as Danish or Dutch, and pick the languages to translate into. SiteTran gives you your Widget Code.

2

Add a Code component

Open Website Builder from the one.com Control Panel. Click Widgets and choose Code (some editors list it under More). Keep Placement of code on Normal, paste all three lines and click Save.

Widgets›Code›Normal›Save
3

Place it, publish, translate

Drag the Code component into your header, tick Apply to all pages under Settings › Placement, and click Publish. Then pick a language on your site and translate with AI, your own translators, or both.

What the Widget Code looks like
<script>var sitetran = {site_id: your_site_id};</script>
<script src="//c.sitetran.com/widget/v3.js"></script>
<div id="sitetran_translate_element"></div>

SiteTran gives you your own ready-to-paste code, with your site ID already in it. The div is where the language dropdown is created.

Embed code

Normal

Insert any HTML code including JavaScript.

<script>var sitetran = {site_id: 12345};</script>
<script src="//c.sitetran.com/widget/v3.js"></script>
<div id="sitetran_translate_element"></div>

Put it in the header

Website Builder repeats the header on every page that uses the same template, and the Code component's Settings › Placement has an Apply to all pages option. Use both, so the shop, blog and pages you add later are covered.

Normal, not “Before closing </head>”

The placement menu can also send code to the page head, which suits cookie banners. Keep the Widget Code on Normal: its div draws the language dropdown and belongs in the visible page.

A dropdown that stays put

The dropdown appears where the Code component sits. To keep it in a corner on every screen size, set Positioning to Fixed on window on the Dropdown Style page, or move it with CSS.

Built for one.com

What happens to each part of your one.com site

SiteTran translates whatever Website Builder renders on the page. It keeps watching the page, so carts, messages and other text that appear later are translated when they appear.

Translated on every page

Header, menus and footer

Your menu, header text and footer are translated once and reused everywhere. Your page tree stays as it is, with no language level and no second menu to maintain.

Translated on your pages

Online Shop and cart

The All products grid, Featured products and product widgets, button texts like Add to cart, the cart and the automatic shop footer are translated in every language, from the one shop you already run.

Translated as displayed

Blog posts

Posts, categories and dates shown on your blog page are translated when they appear, including AI-generated posts you edited in the blog dashboard. You keep writing each post once.

Translated as displayed

Contact forms and withdrawal forms

Field labels, placeholders, buttons and thank-you messages are translated. What a visitor types is submitted as typed, so a Swedish message arrives in Swedish.

Same translations

Mobile view

Website Builder has a separate Mobile view editor where you can hide or reorder components. Your translations apply to both layouts. Just make sure the Code component isn't hidden on mobile.

A file per language

Images, banners and PDFs

Alt text is translated automatically. For a banner with text or a price list PDF, point each language to its own file with Translating Images & URLs.

one.com's built-in method

A copy of every page, or one site in every language

Website Builder has no automatic translation. one.com's help center shows how to build a multilingual site by hand: one home page per language, duplicate pages beneath it, and a second menu as the language selector.

Selling across Europe

Started in Copenhagen, used from Aarhus to Amsterdam

one.com was founded in Denmark in 2002 and launched Website Builder in 2012. Many of its sites are written in Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch or German first, so SiteTran treats any language as your original.

A Danish webshop shipping to its neighbors

A ceramics studio, a design shop or a Faroese knitwear brand selling to Sweden, Norway and Germany from one Online Shop. Keep product names fixed with the Glossary and let everyone order in their own language.

Dansk→SvenskaNorskDeutschEnglish
Glossary“Lerhuset Nord” stays “Lerhuset Nord” in every language.

Dutch and German stays for tourists

A B&B on Texel, a holiday cottage in the Eifel or a guided bike tour welcoming guests from across Europe. Translate rooms, house rules and the booking request form without copying a single page.

Nederlands→DeutschEnglishFrançais
Translation RuleGerman: address guests formally with “Sie”.

Local services for new neighbors

A dental clinic in Malmö, an accountant in Oslo or a driving school in Odense whose clients are more at home in English, Polish, Ukrainian or Arabic. Machine translation does the first pass and a bilingual colleague checks it.

Svenska→EnglishPolskiУкраїнськаالعربية
Translation RuleEnglish: keep Swedish street and clinic names as written.
EU shop checklist

Legal labels deserve a human check

Since June 19, 2026, EU online shops selling to consumers must offer an easy way to withdraw an order online, and one.com's help center shows how to build the withdrawal form and footer button in Website Builder. SiteTran translates that button and form like any other text. For legal wording, use machine translation as a draft and have a reviewer approve it.

  • Review before publishing. Keep Machine Translation Auto Approve off and let a reviewer approve terms, return policy and withdrawal texts.
  • Keep prices in context. Say which currency you charge in, for example “Prices in DKK”, so shoppers in every language know exactly what they'll pay.
  • Swap language-specific files. A price list PDF or a banner with text can point to a different file per language, through Translating Images & URLs.
  • Payment methods stay local. MobilePay, Swish, iDEAL and Klarna show their own screens in their own languages.

Every way to make a one.com site multilingual

You have four realistic choices on Website Builder: one.com's duplicate-page method, a free browser-translation widget, a translation service that serves language subdomains, or SiteTran. Here's what each one involves.

Duplicate pagesone.com's built-in method Free translate widgetFor example GTranslate Free Subdomain servicesFor example Weglot or ConveyThis SiteTranOne Code component
How it works A home page per language with copies of your pages beneath it, translated by hand. A script in a Code component machine-translates each page in the visitor's browser. Online Shop The All products grid can only be used once, so the full shop stays in one language. Machine translated on the fly, with no way to correct it. Varies by service. Any shop text shown on your pages, in every language you add.
Editing translations You type every translation in the editor. Not possible on the free version; translations aren't stored. In the service's dashboard. Translators and reviewers per language, approval, Glossary and Translation Rules, with unlimited teammates.
Machine translation None built in. Automatic, all languages, no review. A word allowance per plan, often with a language cap. Weglot Starter: 1 language, 10,000 words. DeepL, Google Translate and OpenAI. 7K machine translations on the Free plan.
Language URLs Each copy has its own page address, such as a folder named “en”. None. URLs don't change and search engines don't index the translations. Language subdomains with hreflang, set up in your DNS. Same URL by default, with translated meta tags. Language subdomains are an advanced setup.

one.com details are from one.com's Website Builder help center. Service details are from each provider's own pricing page; none of them publishes a one.com-specific guide. All checked October 20, 2026. The duplicate-page method is a fine choice for a small brochure site with one extra language that rarely changes.

Translation quality

AI speed, with a person checking what matters

Start with machine translation and refine it with your own team. You decide what gets approved and when it goes live on your one.com site.

  • Machine translation from DeepL, Google and OpenAI

Get suggestions for any phrase, or translate new phrases automatically. You choose whether they're approved automatically or reviewed first.

  • Translators and reviewers per language

Invite a Swedish-speaking colleague, a German partner shop or a professional translator for each language, and choose who can approve. Turn on AI Translation Review for a second opinion.

  • Glossary, rules and translation memory

Keep product and place names consistent in the Glossary, set Translation Rules that AI translation follows, such as formal or informal tone, and reuse past work with Similar Phrases.

  • A language dropdown that fits your template

Choose from three dropdown types, with or without flags, and add your own CSS. Visitors are switched to their browser language automatically.

Everything search and social cards read

SiteTran translates more than visible text. When a visitor switches language, the page titles and meta descriptions you set in each page's SEO settings switch with it.

  • Page title and meta description
  • Open Graph and Twitter tags for link previews
  • Image alt text, tooltips, placeholders and ARIA labels
  • The page's lang attribute, which Website Builder sets from your Page language, updated to the selected language
Advanced setup

Language URLs for Google

By default, every language uses your existing one.com URL and the visitor's choice is remembered. For a separate, indexable page per language, SiteTran's Static Translation API returns translated HTML for an address you serve it from:

www.lerhusetnord.dkone.com, original
sv.lerhusetnord.dkSubdomain + proxy
lerhusetnord.dk/sv/Needs a proxy for the whole site

Website Builder publishes your site for you, so a language subdomain is set up in your domain's DNS settings and pointed at a small proxy or edge worker that calls the API. We'll help you plan it.

Troubleshooting

one.com translation not working? Check these first

Most one.com setup problems come down to the plan, the Code component's placement, or publishing.

1The language dropdown doesn't appear

  1. Check that your plan includes Embed custom code and that the Code component holds all three lines, including the div.
  2. Click Publish. Changes in the editor aren't live until you do.
  3. In SiteTran, make sure the language is both Active and Live. If Hide All Widgets On Site (dev mode) is on, add ?sitetran=on to your URL.
My Language Isn’t Showing Up in the Language Dropdown →

2It only works on the page where I added it

  1. A Code component in a page's content area only loads on that page.
  2. Move it into the header, then open its Settings › Placement and tick Apply to all pages.
  3. Pages with a different template have their own header, so check one of each.

3The dropdown is missing on phones

  1. Open the Mobile view editor and check the Hidden elements list for the Code component.
  2. If the mobile header leaves no room, set Positioning to Fixed on window on the Dropdown Style page.
  3. Republish, then test on a phone or with your browser's device mode.
Positioning the Language Dropdown on your Site →

4Some text is still in Danish

  1. SiteTran discovers text when it's shown, so open the shop, cart, blog and form messages you need translated.
  2. A translation appears only after it's approved and published. To translate new text automatically, turn on Machine Translation Auto Translate.
Translating Dynamic Content →

5My changes aren't showing yet

  1. After you approve and publish, translation data can take up to 30 seconds to update.
  2. A visitor's browser can keep translation data cached for up to 10 minutes.
  3. Try a hard refresh or a private window.
My New Translations or Changes Aren’t Appearing on my Website →

6The dropdown shows up only after cookie consent

  1. one.com's consent banner has an optional Auto Blocker that holds back third-party content until visitors allow it.
  2. Test your live site in a private window, before and after accepting cookies.
  3. If SiteTran only loads after consent, review your Auto Blocker or Termly settings, or contact us.

Email support
How do I add SiteTran to my one.com website?
Create a free SiteTran site and copy your Widget Code. In the one.com Website Builder editor, click Widgets and choose Code (some editor versions list Code under More). Keep Placement of code set to Normal, paste all three lines and click Save. Drag the Code component into your header, tick Apply to all pages in its Settings under Placement, then click Publish. Open your site, pick a language, and SiteTran starts discovering your phrases.
Which one.com plan do I need?
A plan that includes Embed custom code. In one.com's plan overview, that is the Business, Pro and Ecommerce Website Builder hosting plans, or the Premium and Business + E-commerce add-ons on a classic hosting plan. On Mini, Basic or Starter, upgrade from the Upgrade button in the editor to add it.
Should I choose Normal or Before closing </head> as the placement?
Choose Normal. The third line of the Widget Code is a div that creates the language dropdown, and a div belongs in the visible page, not in the head. With Normal placement you can also drag the Code component to the spot where you want the dropdown, such as the header.
Does one.com Website Builder have a built-in multilingual feature?
Not an automatic one. one.com's help center describes a manual method: turn your home page into a language page, duplicate every page for each extra language, add a second menu as a language selector and type in the translations yourself. It works without extra cost, but every edit has to be repeated in each copy, and the Online Shop's All products grid can only be used once per website.
Does SiteTran translate the one.com Online Shop?
Yes, when the text renders on your site. Product names, descriptions, variants, button labels, the cart and the automatic shop footer are translated in every language you add, from the same single shop. Like every website translation tool, order emails are sent by one.com and payment screens use each provider's own language settings.
Can my Danish, Swedish or Dutch site be the original language?
Yes. When you create your SiteTran site, you select the current, original language of your website, which can be Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Dutch, German or any other language. You then add the languages you want to translate into, such as English, German or Polish.
Does SiteTran work with Aida AI Website Builder?
Aida AI Website Builder is a separate one.com product. Its plans include embed code, which one.com says is added by asking Aida in the chat rather than from a menu. Ask Aida to add all three lines of your Widget Code to every page, publish, and check that the dropdown appears. If it does not, email us and we will help.
My one.com site runs on WordPress. What should I use?
Use the SiteTran WordPress plugin instead of the Code component. It is made for WordPress sites on any host, including one.com's WordPress hosting, and is covered on our WordPress translator page.
Do translated one.com pages get their own URLs for SEO?
By default, every language is served from your existing one.com URL with translated titles and meta descriptions, and the visitor's choice is remembered. For indexable language URLs, SiteTran's Static Translation API can serve translated HTML on a language subdomain such as en.yourshop.dk through a proxy you point it at. The subdomain is set up in your domain's DNS settings. Book a call and we will help you plan it.
Can I show a different image or PDF for each language?
Yes. Turn on Discover URLs under Settings, then Phrase Discovery, and translate an image or file URL to a version made for that language, such as a price list PDF or a banner with text on it. Image alt text is translated automatically.
Does SiteTran convert prices or currencies?
No. Prices, currencies, VAT and shipping rates stay exactly as you set them in your Online Shop, so a Swedish visitor sees your Danish prices with Swedish labels around them.
Can I use machine translation and still review it?
Yes. You can get machine translation suggestions from DeepL, Google Translate or OpenAI, automatically translate new phrases, and decide whether those translations are approved automatically or reviewed first. You can also invite human translators and reviewers for each language and use AI Translation Review.
Will visitors see their own language automatically?
Yes, by default. SiteTran detects the visitor's browser language and switches to it when that language is available on your site. The choice is saved in a cookie for future visits, and visitors can change language at any time from the language dropdown.
Can I test translations before visitors see them?
Yes. A language stays hidden from visitors until you set it to Live. You can also click Preview in the one.com editor before you publish, or turn on Hide All Widgets On Site (dev mode) under Settings, then Publishing, and add ?sitetran=on to your site's URL to see the language dropdown yourself.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan includes 7,000 words in your site, 3,000 translated pageviews per month and 7,000 machine translations, with unlimited languages and teammates. Paid plans raise those limits and start at $3 per month. Compare plans.
What happens if I go over my plan's limits?
You will be prompted to upgrade or buy additional credits. Your existing translations remain intact, and new translations are paused until you upgrade.
