SiteTran
Weebly One Header Code paste

Translate your Weebly website into 187+ languages

Weebly has no built-in way to run one site in several languages. SiteTran adds it with one paste in Header Code: your pages, Weebly Store, blog and forms are translated as they load, so you never copy your site or rebuild pages per language.

  • Free plan, no card needed
  • Unlimited languages on every plan

Is it still worth translating a Weebly site?

If your Weebly site is live and bringing in customers, yes. Here's where Weebly stands under Square today, so you can decide with the facts in front of you.

Still running

Most Weebly sites carry on as usual

Weebly still runs in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and most of Europe. Square now steers new business sites to Square Online and keeps the Weebly editor for existing sites, with few new features.

Closing in 67 countries

A wind-down in some countries

In June 2026 Weebly announced it would stop serving 67 countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and Turkey.

  • June 29No more publishing new pages
  • Sept 27Sites unpublished
  • Dec 26Account access ends
Your work is portable

Translations live in SiteTran, not Weebly

If you rebuild elsewhere later, update the Site URL in Site Details and add the same Widget Code. Matching text is translated with what you already have, and you can export everything under Settings › Export.

Which kind of site do you have?

Ready for SiteTran

Weebly editor with Header Code

You edit with tabs like Build, Pages, Theme and Settings, and see a Header Code box under Settings › SEO. That's where SiteTran goes, and the steps below are for you.

Works on Free too

Free plan on a weebly.com address

Weebly's pricing page lists third-party embed code on every plan, including Free, and SiteTran works on a weebly.com address. Look for the Header Code box under Settings › SEO.

Square Online site

Square Online is a different builder, with its custom code under Settings › Tracking Tools. Book a call and we'll plan the setup with you.

How it works

Add SiteTran to Weebly in three steps

Header Code loads on every page of your site, including store pages, blog posts and pages you add later. You paste the code once and you're done.

1

Create your SiteTran site

Sign up free, add your Weebly site's address and pick your languages. On the Dropdown Style page, copy your Widget Code.

2

Paste it into Header Code

In Weebly, click Edit Site, open Settings, then SEO. Paste all three lines into Header Code, click Save, then Publish.

Edit Site›Settings›SEO›Header Code
3

Translate and go live

Open your published site and pick a language. SiteTran discovers your text as pages load, then you translate it with AI, your own translators, or both.

What the Widget Code looks like
<script>var sitetran = {site_id: your_site_id};</script>
<script src="//c.sitetran.com/widget/v3.js"></script>
<div id="sitetran_translate_element"></div>

SiteTran gives you your own ready-to-paste code, with your site ID already in it. The div is where the language dropdown is created.

Choose where the dropdown sitsFrom Header Code, the dropdown appears at the very top of each page. To pin it to a corner instead, choose Fixed on window on the Dropdown Style page.
Paste it in one place onlyNot in an Embed Code element too. That element only loads on its own page, and two copies give you two dropdowns.
Save, then PublishWeebly applies Header Code to your live site only after you publish, and code doesn't run inside the editor.
Built for Weebly

What happens to each part of your Weebly site

SiteTran keeps watching the page after it loads, so store popups, cart updates and form messages are translated when they appear, not only the text that was there at first.

Translated on every page

Pages, theme and menus

Headings, text blocks, buttons, image captions, your navigation and footer are all translated, including pages you add after installing. Your Site Description and page titles switch language too.

Translated on your pages

Weebly Store

Category pages, product names, descriptions, options such as size or flavor, Quick Shop, item badges and the cart are translated as they render. Prices stay as you set them.

Translated on your site

Checkout

Checkout text on your site is translated, so customers can follow each step in their language. Place a test order in each language before you set it to Live to see exactly what they'll see.

Translated as displayed

Blog

The blog index, every post, categories, the sidebar and comment form labels are translated, because Header Code loads on blog pages too. New posts show up in SiteTran ready to translate.

Labels translated

Forms and member pages

Contact and order form labels, placeholders and messages are translated, and what visitors type is sent as typed. For member pages with personal data, turn off Public Phrase Discovery.

Translated on your page

App Center apps

Apps that add text to your page are translated like the rest of it, so the extras you've installed match the visitor's language too.

Every way to make a Weebly site multilingual

Weebly has no built-in multilingual feature. Square's own help center offers two routes: copy your site for each language, or install an app from the Weebly App Center. Here's what each involves.

Copy your siteOne Weebly site per language Multilanguage appPages per language, one site Other translation servicesScript in Header Code SiteTranOne Header Code paste
How it works Copy the site from your dashboard, rewrite every page in the new language, and link the sites with an External Site page. You add translated pages and footers to the same site, and a language selector shows one language's pages at a time. A script translates your pages through the provider's service and adds a language switcher. SiteTran translates your pages as they render and adds a language dropdown.
New and edited text Every edit, product and post has to be repeated by hand in each copy. Blog posts aren't copied. Content pages are translated by hand, page by page. Usually detected when the page is visited. Discovered as it appears. Machine Translation Auto Translate can translate it right away.
Store and checkout Products and settings are managed separately in each copy. Products, categories and options can be translated; the listing says checkout is too. Varies by service. Store pages, cart and checkout text as shown on your site, in every language you add.
Machine translation None. You write or paste each translation. Not for content pages, per the developer's guide. Included, usually with a monthly word allowance. DeepL, Google Translate and OpenAI. 7K machine translations on the Free plan.
Languages One more site for each language. No fixed cap; each one is more pages to maintain. Often capped by plan, for example 1 or 3 languages. 187+ languages, unlimited on every plan.
Language URLs A separate address per site, such as a subdomain or second domain. Separate pages inside your site. Usually language subdomains on your own domain, set up with DNS records on higher plans. Same URL by default, with translated meta tags. Language subdomains are an advanced setup.
Price No extra tool, but a Weebly plan per copy if each needs its own domain. $4 per month in the App Center, after a free trial. App Center listings range from free to $299 per month. Free plan, paid plans from $3 per month.

Based on Square's help article on multilingual Weebly sites, Weebly App Center listings (Multilanguage, ConveyThis, Bablic, LocalizeInternet) and providers' Weebly pages, checked October 20, 2026.

Translation quality

AI speed, with a person checking what matters

Start with machine translation and refine it with your own people. You decide what gets approved and when it goes live on your Weebly site.

  • Machine translation from DeepL, Google and OpenAI

Get suggestions for any phrase, or translate new phrases automatically. You choose whether they're approved automatically or reviewed first.

  • Translators and reviewers per language

Invite a bilingual employee, a family member or a professional translator for each language, and choose who can approve. Turn on AI Translation Review for a second opinion.

  • Glossary, rules and translation memory

Keep your shop and product names right in the Glossary, set Translation Rules that AI translation follows, such as a formal or friendly tone, and reuse past work with Similar Phrases.

  • A language dropdown that fits your theme

Choose from three dropdown types, with or without flags, and add your own CSS. Visitors are switched to their browser language automatically.

Multilingual SEO on Weebly

Weebly doesn't create language URLs or hreflang tags on its own. Here's what SiteTran translates as soon as you install it, and what it takes to give each language its own indexable address.

Included as soon as you install

Everything search and social cards read

SiteTran translates more than visible text. When a visitor switches language, the page titles and Site Description you set in Weebly switch with it.

  • Page title and meta description
  • Open Graph and Twitter tags for link previews
  • Image alt text, tooltips, placeholders and ARIA labels
  • The page's lang attribute, set to the selected language
Advanced setup

Language URLs for Google

By default, every language uses your existing Weebly URL and the visitor's choice is remembered. For a separate, indexable page per language, SiteTran's Static Translation API returns translated HTML for an address you serve it from:

www.yourbakery.comWeebly, original
es.yourbakery.comSubdomain + proxy

A language subdomain on your own connected domain can point at a small proxy or edge worker that calls the API. We'll help you plan it.

Launch checklist

Before you switch a language to Live

A language stays hidden from visitors until you set it to Live. Use that time to walk through your Weebly site the way a customer would.

  1. Visit every page onceSiteTran discovers text as pages load. Open your store categories, a few products, the cart, your blog and your contact page so their phrases appear in SiteTran.
  2. Open the things that pop upQuick Shop, product options, form error messages and your cookie banner only appear when you use them. Click through them once.
  3. Add names to the GlossaryYour shop name, product names and street names often shouldn't change. Add them with the translation you want, which is often the name itself.
  4. Have someone review what matters mostAllergens, prices in text, opening hours and return policies are worth a human check, even when machine translation is good.
  5. Place a test orderSwitch to the new language, add something to the cart and go through checkout to see exactly what your customers will see.
  6. Set the language to LiveVisitors whose browser uses that language are switched to it automatically, and everyone else can pick it from the dropdown.
Troubleshooting

Weebly translation not working? Check these first

Most Weebly setup problems come down to publishing, where the code went, or checking the editor instead of the live site.

1The language dropdown doesn't appear

  1. Click Publish after saving. Weebly only adds Header Code to your live site when you publish.
  2. Check the published site, not the editor, where custom code doesn't run.
  3. Make sure all three lines of the Widget Code are in Settings › SEO › Header Code, including the div.
  4. In SiteTran, make sure the language is both Active and Live. If Hide All Widgets On Site (dev mode) is on, add ?sitetran=on to your URL.
My Language Isn’t Showing Up in the Language Dropdown →

2The dropdown is in an awkward spot

  1. From Header Code, the dropdown sits at the very top of the page, above your theme's header.
  2. On the Dropdown Style page, choose Fixed on window and a corner to keep it visible as visitors scroll.
  3. Or position #sitetran_translate_element with your own CSS.
Positioning the Language Dropdown on your Site →

3Two language dropdowns show up

  1. The Widget Code was added more than once.
  2. Check Header Code, page-level Header Code in each page's SEO settings, Post header code under Settings › Blog, and any Embed Code elements.
  3. Keep the copy in Settings › SEO › Header Code, remove the others and publish again.

4Some text is still in the original language

  1. SiteTran discovers text when it's shown, so open the store pages, popups and forms you need translated.
  2. A translation appears only after it's approved and published. To translate new text automatically, turn on Machine Translation Auto Translate.
  3. Apps that load in their own frame use the app's own language settings, so set those in the app.
Translating Dynamic Content →

5My changes aren't showing yet

  1. After you approve and publish, translation data can take up to 30 seconds to update.
  2. A visitor's browser can keep translation data cached for up to 10 minutes.
  3. Try a hard refresh or a private window.
My New Translations or Changes Aren’t Appearing on my Website →

6Names or customer details are being translated

  1. Add shop, product and staff names to the Glossary with the translation you want, often the name itself.
  2. Use variables for names, dates and prices inside a sentence.
  3. For member pages with personal data, turn off Public Phrase Discovery.

Email support
How do I add SiteTran to my Weebly site?
Create a free SiteTran site and copy your Widget Code. In Weebly, click Edit Site, open Settings, then SEO, and paste all three lines into Header Code. Click Save, then Publish. Open your live site, pick a language from the dropdown, and SiteTran starts discovering your phrases.
Do I need a paid Weebly plan?
Weebly's pricing page lists third-party embed code on every plan, including Free, and SiteTran works on a weebly.com address. If your editor doesn't show the Header Code box under Settings, then SEO, ask Weebly support which plan your site needs. You'll need a paid plan to connect your own domain, which language subdomains require.
Is Weebly shutting down?
Not everywhere. In June 2026 Weebly announced it was winding down in 67 countries, where sites were unpublished on September 27, 2026 and account access ends on December 26, 2026. Weebly continues to run in other countries, including the US, Canada, the UK and Australia. Your SiteTran translations are stored in your SiteTran account, not in Weebly, so they stay available if you move.
My site is on Square Online, not the Weebly editor. Does this work?
Square Online is a separate builder with different code settings, under Settings, then Tracking Tools. Book a call and we will help you plan the setup for your Square Online site.
Can I paste the code into an Embed Code element instead?
Use Header Code instead. An Embed Code element only loads on the page you place it on, so other pages would not be translated. If you add the code in both places, visitors see two language dropdowns. To control where the dropdown appears, use the Dropdown Style page in SiteTran.
Does SiteTran translate my Weebly store and checkout?
Yes. Product names, descriptions, options, categories, the cart and checkout text are translated as they appear on your site. Like every website translation tool, card fields from Square or Stripe and PayPal's own pages use the payment provider's language settings. Place a test order in each language before you set it to Live.
Does SiteTran translate my Weebly blog?
Yes. Header Code loads on every page of your site, including the blog index and each post. Post titles, text, categories, the sidebar and comment form labels are translated. Comments that visitors write are text like any other, so exclude them if you prefer to keep them as written.
Are Weebly emails and form notifications translated?
Form labels and messages on your site are translated, and what visitors type into a form arrives as they typed it. Like every website translation tool, SiteTran works on your pages: order confirmations and form notification emails are sent by Weebly.
Do translated Weebly pages get their own URLs for SEO?
By default, every language is served from your existing Weebly URL with translated titles and meta descriptions, and the visitor's choice is remembered. For indexable language URLs, SiteTran's Static Translation API can serve translated HTML on a language subdomain such as es.yourbakery.com through a proxy you point it at. That needs your own domain. Book a call and we will help you plan it.
Should I copy my Weebly site for each language instead?
Copying your site gives each language its own address, but every page, product and edit has to be repeated by hand in every copy, blog posts are not copied, and each copy needs its own plan for a custom domain. SiteTran keeps one Weebly site and translates it, so new and edited text shows up ready to translate.
Will SiteTran change my Weebly site?
No. SiteTran only changes the text displayed in the visitor's browser. Your pages, theme, store, blog and apps stay as they are in Weebly, and you keep editing them as usual.
Can I use machine translation and still review it?
Yes. You can get machine translation suggestions from DeepL, Google Translate or OpenAI, automatically translate new phrases, and decide whether those translations are approved automatically or reviewed first. You can also invite human translators and reviewers for each language and use AI Translation Review.
Will visitors see their own language automatically?
Yes, by default. SiteTran detects the visitor's browser language and switches to it when that language is available on your site. The choice is saved in a cookie for future visits, and visitors can change language at any time from the language dropdown.
If I move off Weebly later, do I lose my translations?
No. Your phrases and translations are stored in SiteTran. Update the Site URL in Site Details, add the same Widget Code to your new site, and text that matches is translated with what you already have. You can also export your translations under Settings, then Export, as CSV, JSON, TypeScript or XLIFF.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan includes 7,000 words in your site, 3,000 translated pageviews per month and 7,000 machine translations, with unlimited languages and teammates. Paid plans raise those limits and start at $3 per month. Compare plans.
What happens if I go over my plan's limits?
You will be prompted to upgrade or buy additional credits. Your existing translations remain intact, and new translations are paused until you upgrade.
